Kirby Slunaker, President & Founder
Kirby Slunaker is President / CEO of Palmaris and is responsible for overall business management and service delivery for clients. Kirby has over 30 years of experience in the information technology industry in Denver. Prior to Palmaris, he was Chief Information Officer for several small, entrepreneurial, venture-backed, start-up companies such as Plus System, ProCard, and eBags, as well as for large Fortune 500 companies such as Visa USA and MDC Holdings.
Kirby understands how to use technology to deliver real business value and what it means to be accountable for results. He has a proven track record of success in strategic planning, enterprise project management, product / software development, packaged software implementations, and operations.
In addition, he has a strong background in consulting with senior management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders to develop and execute innovative strategies that deliver real strategic value and ensure success of the business for clients.
While Chief Information Officer for Visa USA’s debit processing subsidiary, Kirby led an IT organization that handled over 2 billion transactions a year valued at over $45 billion. In addition, as CIO for Plus System, Inc. he was an integral part of the initial senior management team that founded the first national and international automated teller machine network and grew it into a worldwide service offering eventually doing business in 109 foreign countries.
Kirby is on the Board of Directors for CSIA – “Colorado’s Technology Association” and is the Chair-Elect for 2009. He has also served on the Executive IT Panel for the Metro Denver Economic Development Center’s WIRED development project, and currently is on the Board of Advisors for the Information Technology and Electronic Commerce (ITEC) department for the University of Denver.
Kirby holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in business and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Jan Hanbery, Vice President Staffing & Recruiting
Jan has thirty years of experience in recruiting across several industries. For over 25 years, she has focused on the information technology industry. She has recruited for an international consulting firm and also has had her own company engaging in full-time placement and consulting. She has worked in technology, placing people in development, systems management, sales and executive positions. While she has worked at the national level, her experience has been primarily focused on the Denver front range area and she has worked with both large and small companies. Her business knowledge, thoroughness, and success in identifying the right people have led to repeated calls from, and referrals by, her client companies and consultants.
She has been a member of many technology organizations. Jan has co-chaired and planned Founders Day at the University of Denver, an event attended by over 1000 people. She is active in many alumni events at DU.
Jan is active on committees within her community and has volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
Kirk Bohn, Vice President Business Development
Kirk is Vice President of Business Development for Palmaris and is responsible for growing demand for the company’s services by increasing awareness and driving sales and marketing strategy. Kirk has over 15 years of experience in the information technology industry with companies such as Sun Microsystems and Intelligent Electronics. He was most recently Director of Sales and Alliances with a well-known, Denver-based, IT solutioning firm.
Kirk has a proven track record of success in working with everything from venture-backed start-ups to Fortune 500 companies and he brings a passion for working with client’s everyday to exceed their expectations. Kirk’s previous experience includes sales and solutioning positions at technology firms across the Front Range.
While at Sun Microsystems, Kirk was part of the National Account team for a major telecommunications company based in Denver and achieved Presidents Club recognition by securing over $100 Million in annual revenue. Recently, he was instrumental in working with the Denver Botanic Gardens to create the infrastructure necessary for the largest Wi-Fi hot spot in the Metro Denver area.
At Intelligent Electronics, Kirk worked his way up from a mid-level account representative to the National Account Manager and his clients included companies such as CDW, Mac Mall, and Insight Direct.
Kirk earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and continues to be active in the information technology industry and the community. Last year he was recognized by the CSIA and his peers as “Tech Champion of the Year” for 2007. Kirk also volunteers his time with Denver youth where he is a mentor and advisor to high school students.
